The opportunity
As a result of continued growth within our Global Investment Data Management Team (GIDM), we currently have a vacancy for an Investment Data Specialist. Reporting to the Global Investment Data Manager, this role will be responsible for providing fund data aligned support to our enterprise data clients and stakeholders to enable data driven decision making in the fund selection process. The role will serve as the point of contact for investment data related enquiries and partner closely with internal teams to ensure integrity of investment and fund data. Lastly, the role will have oversight of operational activities to ensure accurate and timely service delivery.
What you will do
Produce timely and accurate fund data reporting under tight deadlines, analysing multiple inputs to meet operational objectives.
Research and analyse data exceptions with internal/external data suppliers and partners whilst maintaining system and business controls to ensure data integrity
Execute and analyse a wide variety of daily and periodical data reporting and quality control queries in a timely and accurate manner.
Escalate issues when needed to the appropriate support team, ensuring that data issues are resolved efficiently and quickly.
Recognise improvement opportunities and where appropriate perform root cause analysis of data errors and provides short-term and long-term solutions for issues
Create, maintain, and improve Data Management procedures and workflows. Where needed, proactively engage and work collaboratively with colleagues across the enterprise to improve and sustain global operational processes.
Develop a strong and consistent knowledge of the funds and securities assigned and understands the details driving the global operational processes and the downstream impacts.
Provide project support by participating in acceptance and regression testing, system monitoring, and other project-related activities as needed.
What we are looking for
Demonstratedexperience within financial and investments industry with background in Data Management, Client Reporting, Investment Operations, Portfolio Management or Fund Accounting
Strong analytical ability, research-driven problem solving, and time / attention management skills required.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, with proven ability to effectively communicate with external providers, internal business clients, and crew members at all levels.
Demonstrated ability to function in a fast-paced, ambiguous working environment exercising excellent judgment skills with an ability to analyse issues quickly
Ability to quickly become knowledgeable in current and future policies, practices, trends, and information affecting Data Management practices within the organisation
Specialisations that will make an impact
Undergraduate degree (preferably in accounting, finance, economics, or related field)
Strong knowledge of Financial Services, investment management company or global organisations would be highly regarded
knowledge of AWS, Python and SQL is a significant plus.
Working knowledge of Business Intelligence software (Tableau, Power BI) a plus.
Proficiency in Data Management practices and strong knowledge of data workflows
