Overview
The Insurance Data & Reporting Specialist plays a pivotal role in enabling Cbus Insurance Operations to operate as a data-led business unit. This role is responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and actionable data and insights that support exceptional member experiences, innovation, and compliance with regulatory obligations. Working closely with the Member Analytics and Insights team, this role will lead the development of dashboards, reporting frameworks, and insights that inform strategic and operational decisions across the Insurance Operations business.
Responsibilities Oversee and analyse third-party reporting, including SLA and quality metrics, to ensure alignment with regulatory and contractual obligations. Monitor insurer performance and generate insights to support continuous improvement and strategic alignment. Establish and maintain an Insurance Data Governance Framework. Conduct regular and ad-hoc analysis of claims volumes, durations, and aged claims to identify trends and improvement opportunities. Develop reporting triggers and data journeys to proactively identify and address operational issues. Deliver monthly reporting on insurance-related complaints and Voice of Customer feedback. Collaborate on the development of an Insurance Data Dictionary aligned with APRA's SRF251 standard. Support the delivery of self-service dashboards and scheduled reporting in partnership with the Member Analytics & Insights team. Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights using visualisation and reporting tools. Maintain data quality control and ensure accuracy of all reporting outputs. Prepare reports and presentations for senior stakeholders, including the Group Head of Insurance and Executive teams. Contribute to exception reporting processes and data quality improvement initiatives. Map data sources across systems (MUFG, TAL, Cbus) to support data integrity and reporting accuracy. Collaborate on risk management activities, including incident escalation, compliance reviews, and control assessments. Key Selection Criteria Demonstrated experience in insurance data analysis and reporting, preferably within superannuation or group insurance. Strong understanding of insurance claims and underwriting processes. Experience in developing dashboards and reporting frameworks using business intelligence tools. Ability to translate data into meaningful insights and communicate findings to stakeholders at all levels. Familiarity with APRA Prudential Reporting Standards, particularly SRF251. Strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. High attention to detail and commitment to data quality. Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities. Experience with risk management processes, including incident handling and control reviews. Proficiency in data visualisation tools and Microsoft 365 applications. About Cbus
