About the role
Laing O'Rourke is currently recruiting for an Infrastructure Specialist - Network based in Brisbane, QLD. This permanent onsite position offers great career prospects with a privately-owned tier one constructor and international engineering enterprise
You will be part of the Information Technology department with primary role to support and maintain IT networking and security systems.
Key responsibilities·

Provide 2nd and 3rd level network support.
Investigate causes of incidents and seek resolution.
Initiate and monitor actions to investigate and resolve problems in systems, processes and services.
Assist with the implementation of agreed remedies and preventative measures.
Establish and maintain operational processes in line with industry standards.
Perform upgrades and replacements of network and security systems in accordance with Company policies.
Test, implement, monitor and tune networking and security software/hardware to ensure optimum systems performance and highlight potential issues.
Ensure the design, provisioning, upgrading, capacity planning and performance testing of network (data center, cloud, firewalls, WAF and load balancers) systems infrastructure.
Write and peer review technical design documents.
Provide related documentation and handover for a 2nd line incident response capability for network infrastructure operational issues.


About you

At least 5 years' experience in IT infrastructure roles.
Tertiary qualifications in IT or Microsoft certifications.
Desirable experience in Cisco Wireless, DNAC, ISE, Firewalls, FortiNet, VeloCloud Technologies, Azure hybrid networking, voice and video conference systems.
Experience in switching and routing in a large corporate environment.
Experience in wireless infrastructure technologies, network security infrastructure, and security principles & best practices.
Possess strong network administration skills. Must have Cisco Certifications (CCNA), CCNP is highly considered.
Working knowledge of the ITIL v3 Framework.
A focus on customer service and business enablement, with a "can-do" attitude.
