Where you'll be working
Mona Vale Hospital, with some time at Hornsby Hospital
What you'll be doing
Working with managers on performance management processes, supporting misconduct investigations and is comfortable negotiating with unions
Coaching managers and improving their people skills, in particular around having difficult conversations and resolving conflict. Key to this is helping them gain insights into the heart of the problem and being solution focused.
Providing advice on the interpretation and application of relevant Industrial Awards, legislation and employment policies and procedures
Presenting and analysing HR information and supporting staff recognition programs
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or experience in Human Resources or similar and current NSW driver's licence. Travel to hospitals within the Northern Sydney District is required.
Evidence of analytical, customer service and people management skills, including the ability to provide effective HR consultancy advice on interpretation of NSW Health employment legislation, Awards, policies, procedures and guidelines.
Demonstrated ability to advise and coach managers to enhance their skills and confidence in having clear, candid and regular conversations with their direct reports to provide feedback on their performance.
Well-developed communication skills to build relationships with internal stakeholders, demonstrated understanding of stakeholder services to inform HR advice, priorities and seek feedback on how HR can better support operations. Ability to understand management staffing pain points and assess their people management skills in order to coach managers to better address their staffing issues.
Experience negotiating with unions on industrial relations issues desirable.
Experience in investigating complaints, misconduct and poor performance of staff with managers, and working with managers and staff to resolve issues, highly desirable.
Demonstrated ability to present HR data and provide analysis to inform decision making on HR and manager initiatives.
