We are seeking a HR Advisor to join our national HR team and provide HR support to staff and partners in our Melbourne office. Reporting to a HR Manager, this role will allow you to assist the team in working closely with local client groups, providing partners and staff with professional HR services whilst also contributing to various national HR projects and initiatives. This role is a full-time contract position; however, applicants who are able to work 4 days per week will also be considered. Ideally, you will have experience in a similar role and organization; however, it's much more important to us that you bring the right skills and a positive, can-do attitude.
What does the role involve?Actively coordinating the clerkship and graduate recruitment programs.Supporting the team with seasonal clerkship recruitment, partnering closely with universities to organize clerkship events.Assisting the team in daily HR functions including (but not limited to) resourcing, administration, performance management, induction, pay, workplace behavior, event coordination, leave management, and learning and development activities.Being one of the first points of contact for staff, supervisors, and partners on general employment related matters.Contributing towards health, safety, and wellbeing initiatives in line with firm policies and current legislation.Helping to establish and actively participate in industry networks to profile the K&L Gates brand and attract potential talent to the firm.About YouWe value our culture at K&L Gates and are proud of our friendly and respectful reputation. The successful applicant will be proactive in their approach and possess strong problem-solving skills, along with a passion for continuous improvement and innovation. A high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office is also expected, as are excellent project management, organization, and communication skills.
You will ideally have prior experience working in a similar professional services environment; however, this is not essential. We will consider applications from other industries who are looking to gain experience in a corporate legal environment. This is a role that would suit a HR generalist wanting to gain exposure to graduate recruitment processes or an experienced Graduate Recruiter wanting to broaden their generalist skillset with the support of an experienced HR team.
