About the opportunity This is an exciting permanent, full-time opportunity for an experienced and qualified Human Resource professional, who is successful in generalist business partnering with a large and diverse organisation to join our People and Culture team at Blacktown City Council.
Your role will include partnering with the business to provide advice and support in HR-related functions including recruitment, employee relations matters, performance, and disciplinary matters.
This role will provide guidance to managers on organisational design including structures and position gradings whilst maintaining the integrity of the Council's Salary System.
You will have sound knowledge of industrial relations and experience with interpreting and implementing legislation, policies, and procedures related to HR.

Qualifications and experience Essential: Relevant tertiary qualifications in an appropriate field Extensive experience in a related field Demonstrated well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, sound analytical and problem-solving skills Sound knowledge of Commonwealth, State, and Local Government legislation impacting HR and IR Demonstrate appropriate knowledge of, and commitment to, equal opportunity principles and anti-discrimination laws in the workplace Computer literate Ability to work within a small, dynamic, and fast-paced team environment Availability to work flexible working hours Current class "C" driver's licence.
Desirable: Degree level qualifications in Human Resources, Business/Commerce, Industrial Relations, Psychology, or Law Previous experience in carrying out grievance and workplace investigations.
Remuneration and benefits The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council's Enterprise Agreement.
