About the Role:
Ferguson Education and Migration is seeking a dynamic and experienced Human Resource and Placement Officer to join our team.
This role offers an exciting opportunity for the right candidate.
As an HR Officer at Ferguson Education and Migration, you will be responsible for managing the full spectrum of HR functions, with a particular focus on recruitment and staff placement.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment and Selection: Arrange and manage the advertising of job vacancies, conduct interviews and testing of applicants, and handle the selection of staff.
Oversee the preparation of job descriptions, advertise positions on relevant platforms, manage the interview process, and finalize offer letters.
Personnel Records and HR Systems: Maintain personnel records and associated human resource information systems accurately and efficiently.
Advice and Information: Provide expert advice and information to management on workplace relations policies and procedures, staff performance, and disciplinary matters.
Onboarding and Induction: Arrange the induction of new staff members, provide information on conditions of service, salaries, and promotional opportunities, and manage the onboarding and offboarding processes.
Job Vacancy Information: Receive and record job vacancy details from employers, including job descriptions, wages, and conditions of employment.
Provide current job vacancy information within the organization to employers and job seekers.
Employment Negotiations: Undertake negotiations on terms and conditions of employment, examine and resolve disputes and grievances, and develop enterprise agreements or collective contracts.
Legislation and Agreements: Study and interpret legislation, awards, collective agreements, employment contracts, wage payment systems, and dispute settlement procedures.
Workplace Policies: Develop, plan, and formulate workplace relations policies and programs, ensuring effective implementation.
Employee Participation: Oversee the formation and conduct of workplace consultative committees and foster employee participation.
Qualifications and Skills:
Proven experience in HR management, particularly in recruitment and staff placement.
Strong understanding of HR practices, legislation, and workplace relations policies.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Experience:
3+ years of experience in Human Resources or a related field.
Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, or a related discipline.
Resilient nature with an openness to change and a demonstrated ability to drive best practices.
Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and plan ahead.
Ability to prioritize workload and excel in a fast-paced environment.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work autonomously while thriving in a team environment.
Positive attitude and a team player with an energetic and collaborative personality.
Achievement-oriented with a strong customer service focus.
High level of solution-based problem-solving skills.
