We're passionate about protecting the world's forests by providing accurate data that can be relied upon for conservation and biomass assessment purposes.

ArborMeta is growing and therefore seeking a highly organized and proactive HR Advisor to join our team.
The role will work with management to ensure the smooth running of employee relations, supporting our recruitment and contributing to the smooth and effective management of our workforce.

We are looking for someone who can bring both practical HR expertise and a proactive approach to employee relations.

Key Responsibilities: HR Strategy & Policy Development: Assist in developing and reviewing HR policies that are specifically tailored to ArborMeta's operational needs in the forest science industry.
Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, environmental standards, and industry-specific regulations.
Recruitment & Onboarding: Lead the recruitment process for both permanent and contract positions, sourcing top talent with specialized skills in technology and environmental sustainability.
Ensure that the onboarding process includes the proper certification checks, safety training, and familiarization with industry-specific procedures and equipment.
Training & Performance Management: Support the design and implementation of employee development programs aimed at fostering career growth, improving performance, and ensuring high employee engagement.
Workplace Relations & Compliance: Advise managers and staff on workplace relations issues including safe working conditions, performance expectations for fieldwork, and compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
Support managers with addressing disciplinary matters in accordance with both company policy and industry-specific guidelines.
Contractor Management: Manage contractor agreements, ensuring they are compliant with relevant laws and regularly reviewed.
ArborMeta works with a significant number of contractors, and your expertise in managing such agreements will be essential.
Employee Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date personnel records, implementing HR systems.
Job Vacancy Management: Coordinate the advertising of job vacancies and manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including interviewing and selection.
Negotiation & Dispute Resolution: Support negotiations on terms and conditions of employment and handle the resolution of employee disputes and grievances in a fair and compliant manner.
Workplace Consultation & Employee Engagement: Foster a collaborative and positive workplace culture by supporting the formation and operation of workplace consultative committees focused on safety, sustainability, and operational improvements.
Engage employees in regular feedback sessions to address concerns, suggest improvements, and enhance overall job satisfaction in the arboriculture field.
Management of Payroll: Oversee the payroll process for both permanent employees and contractors, ensuring compliance with applicable wage laws, industry standards, and the unique payment structures related to fieldwork.
Required Skills & Qualifications: Minimum 2 years proven experience in HR or a related advisory role, ideally in a growing or fast-paced environment.
Experience within an academic or technology-driven business is highly advantageous.
Relevant degree qualification in HR or related field.
Proven experience in recruitment.
Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment legislation, and workplace relations.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with a proactive approach to resolving issues and promoting positive employee relations.
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Experience with managing contractor agreements and a diverse workforce would be advantageous.
