Horticulturalist

Experienced Horticulturalist sought for maintenance and development of food forest and market garden at Natures Atelier, an innovative nature-focused daycare centre in a rural setting. This is a part-time to full-time position. The candidate must be able to work both autonomously and cooperatively and possess a high degree of initiative and creativity. Physically fit and able to obtain WWC and police clearance.
Responsibilities: Scope for development of purpose-built specialty gardens - bush foods, craft, medicine, fungi cultivation. Working with other staff to facilitate children experiencing all aspects of food growing. Providing produce for the kitchen to make morning and afternoon tea for 100 children. Manage a three-year-old, 1-acre reticulated garden. Qualifications: Suit gardener with interest and experience in either permaculture, regenerative farming practices, organic growing, or education.
