POSITION OVERVIEW
Cedar College is seeking a passionate and dedicated Music Teacher to join our vibrant teaching team. The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering high-quality music education across various secondary year levels, fostering a love of music, and encouraging student engagement and achievement. The Music Teacher will be expected to integrate the Australian Curriculum and the SACE, while also bringing a Christian worldview to their teaching practice.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The successful applicant will teach Music to students in Years 8–10, according to the Australian Curriculum and the SACE. The ability to incorporate a Christian worldview into these subject areas will be highly valued.
In addition to Music, the successful applicant will teach Homeroom/Community for students in Years 7–9.
Key Subject Areas and Year Levels: Music: Years 8–10 Homeroom/Community: Years 7–9 Christian Living (preferred): Experience in teaching Christian Living would be advantageous. SOME KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Plan, deliver, and assess music lessons for students in Years 8–10, in accordance with the Australian Curriculum and SACE requirements. Foster a positive, engaging classroom environment that encourages student participation, creativity, and achievement in music. Integrate a Christian worldview into the teaching of music, demonstrating how faith can inform and enrich students' understanding of music and the arts. Work collaboratively with the Faculty Coordinator and other teaching staff to ensure the delivery of a high standard of education within the Arts Faculty. Participate in school-wide events, meetings, and professional development opportunities to continue growing as an educator and supporting the College's mission. Contribute to the College's vibrant and unified culture, modelling excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution, and communication skills in all interactions with staff, students, and parents/caregivers.
