Whitehaven Coal awards, recognizes, and celebrates individuals and teams going above and beyond the requirements of their role to deliver excellent outcomes while demonstrating our values of Safety, Teamwork, Respect, Integrity, Value, and Excellence.About This RoleThe Gunnedah Open Cuts Health, Safety & Training Advisor is responsible for promoting a positive health and safety culture, whilst working with other sites and departments to maintain the required level of compliance across all work areas.The ideal candidate will enjoy the flexibility of a 9-day fortnight roster and either reside in the Gunnedah Region or be open to relocating to the area.What You'll DoComply with implemented Business Plan KPIs, Health, Safety and Training Management Systems, Management Plans, Legislative requirements, and any reasonable instructions given contributing to the Gunnedah Open Cut Operations goals.Assist the Health Safety and Training Superintendent develop and implement internal health and safety strategies, plans, and policies necessary to optimise business performance and compliance.Support operations management in their accountability for legislative obligations and WHS Management System compliance requirements.Work collaboratively with work areas in conducting work area inspections, in-field task observations, and verifying critical control effectiveness; participate in site WHS Committee meetings, work area pre-start meetings, and toolbox meetings.Promote a positive organisational culture that empowers involvement in WHST matters and the proactive reduction of risks; provide advice, support, and coaching to site personnel as required.What You'll BringKnowledge of NSW WH&S Legislation and statutory requirements.Certificate IV Training and Assessment | Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety.Experience in the Mining Industry.Experience with WHC360, Onsite, and SharePoint (desirable).Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise a dynamic workload within given timeframes.Why Whitehaven Coal?$1,000 Company Shares.$4,000 Referral Bonus.Retail Discounts via Whitehaven Connects.Relocation Packages Available.5 weeks Paid Annual Leave.Employee Recognition Rewards (STRIVE Awards).Whitehaven Coal is committed to increasing the representation of women and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the workplace.
