Our team is growing, and we are currently recruiting for a Health, Safety & Environmental Director for our APAC/Africa Region to join the team in either our Brisbane Global Headquarters or to be based in our Perth Office. This exciting opportunity will suit an individual who enjoys crafting their own legacy into the workplace. We are seeking a seasoned HSE practitioner who is just as happy rolling their sleeves up and getting stuck into our client's sites and projects, as well as creating and implementing Group strategies and programs.
As a member of our Global HSE team, you'll be responsible for providing HSE support across the APAC/Africa region with the potential for further Global opportunities too. The role requires a proactive approach to leading Health, Safety & Environmental requirements across our offices and projects.
Lead and advocate our culture of care including the implementation of programs associated with human performance principles.
Lead our health and safety risk management culture as part of all program/project activities and work priorities.
Ensure Ausenco strategy, management decisions, systems and processes are founded on best practices and community requirements.
Lead the development and implementation of corporate initiatives, such as Safe Work Week and Health Week.
Coordinate and manage office HSE requirements including sourcing First Aid team and Fire Wardens for Brisbane, Perth, and Newcastle to ensure building and legislative compliance.
Maintain registers and records in the HSEMS.
Provide data driven insights, analyses and reports that add value.
Participate and where necessary lead incident investigations in a manner that promotes our learning culture.
Be part of the APAC & Africa Regional leadership team.
Build and sustain key stakeholder relationships to ensure compliance with the Ausenco HSEMS, processes, and procedures.
About You
Degree/Diploma in a Health, Safety and Environment related qualification.
Proven experience in a similar role working in an Engineering, Major Project Delivery, Consulting, Mining or Operational environment.
Demonstrated ability to lead and influence positive outcomes through HSE.
Demonstrated experience managing, influencing, developing, and coaching internal & external stakeholders in the HSE discipline.
Strong conceptual and analytical skills.
Highly developed presentation, written and oral skills.
Ability to develop effective professional relationships.
Accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to be discrete and manage high-level confidential information.
Ability to plan own work and demonstrate good time management skills.
Confident in making decisions where appropriate and necessary.
