The Opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Health and Safety Business Partner, you will oversee the health, safety, and process safety practices for the Solids Waste Services (SWS) sites across Queensland.
This role requires a proactive individual with a strong ability to effectively engage and manage stakeholders and foster a culture of continuous improvement in safety practices.
Your responsibilities will include:
Assist sites in applying knowledge to reduce H&S risk and prevent injury and illness. Assist sites with hazard identification and risk assessment activities. Maintenance of current risk registers, developing and assessing effective risk controls. Contribute to the development and review of the HSE Management Standards. Support sites to conduct HSE incident investigations. Collaborate with key HSE team members and stakeholders to effectively partner to deliver key changes or requirements. Embed a strong safety culture across site operations by applying HSE Behaviours and establishing a learning culture. About You
You should be tertiary qualified in occupational health and safety, or other relevant disciplines.
Certification IV in Training and Assessment is preferred.
You need to have the ability to influence and drive change through H&S initiatives and programs, along with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to build meaningful relationships with all stakeholders.
Previous experience in blue-collar, high-risk industrial environments is desirable.
