You'll be at the heart of our financial strategy, and if you have a knack for turning chaos into order, keep reading.Job Description: Group Finance ManagerWe are searching for an experienced and results-driven Head of Finance to act as the right hand to the Managing Director. This role will oversee and manage strategic business objectives across our portfolio of companies, act as the conduit between the MD and business heads for reporting purposes, and ensure the company meets its strategic goals.The successful applicant will be responsible for overseeing the company's finances and providing best practice methods to increase revenue and reduce costs across all business functions. As the business evolves and explores new opportunities, the successful candidate will perform detailed analysis to provide recommendations on attractive investment opportunities to support the MD's decision-making process.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic LeadershipDevelop and implement the Group office's strategic plan in alignment with Group goals.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and enhance operational efficiency.Work closely with the Group Chair to set priorities and define long-term objectives.Business Operations ManagementOversee the operations of portfolio companies, ensuring alignment with Group values and strategic goals.Actively engage with business leaders and executives to drive performance and improvements.Be accountable for the management and financial reporting for all portfolio companies.Develop and review annual budgets and forecasts.Provide monthly variance analysis to budgets and forecasts.Present accurate financial results and insights to senior stakeholders in a timely manner.Prepare and present decks to potential lenders, business partners, or investors.Liaise with external accountants and lawyers on all tax matters to ensure compliance with financial, tax, and other obligations.Investment OversightEvaluate and identify investment opportunities across diverse sectors.Conduct research and analysis for potential investment opportunities.Build suitable financial models to determine the feasibility of investment opportunities.Monitor investment performance and adjust strategies based on market conditions and Group preferences.Stakeholder CommunicationMaintain transparent and ongoing communication with Group members about financial performance, investment strategies, and operational updates.Prepare and present reports to the Group Chair (and advisory board).Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with investments and business operations.Implement compliance measures and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.Seek innovative solutions to improve operational efficiency and investment performance.Professional AttributesProven experience in executive leadership, preferably in Group or family offices, private equity, or investment management.Strong understanding of business operations, financial markets, and investment strategies.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with Group members and external advisors.A strategic thinker with strong problem-solving abilities and a results-oriented mindset.Finance degree with further qualification either a CPA or CA; an MBA or relevant advanced degree is preferred.Experience working with small businesses, internally or client-side.Advanced skills in Xero and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.Personal AttributesHigh integrity and professionalism.Ability to navigate complex Group dynamics.Happy to roll up their sleeves and be able to be hands-on in all tasks.Commitment to Group legacy and values.The role will be based full time at our office in Moore Park – Entertainment Quarter.How to Apply:Ready to join the revolution?
