About the role We are seeking a compassionate Head of Dietetic Services to join our WA Team on a full-time basis.
This role is a 12 Month Maternity Leave based Contract, with the possibility of an extension for the right candidate.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) WA, the Head of Dietetic Services (HDS) is responsible for assisting, guiding and educating the homes on all aspects of the Nutrition and Hydration program.
The HDS is a leadership and management role, and the HDS assists the Nutrition & Hydration Team to meet strategic objectives, promoting the organisation and its operations, acts as an agent of change, and assists in driving continuous quality improvement.
Your well-honed communication, assessment, and problem-solving skills are easily demonstrated when acting as an agent of change and driving continuous improvement across the organisation, partnering with key personnel in inter-disciplinary teams, as well as providing relationship-centred care that ensures the dignity and respect of aged care residents and clients.
What you'll need to succeed?
Skills and attributes The ability to treat every resident in our care with dignity and respect, valuing their identity, culture and diversity.
The successful candidate will have highly developed skills in assessing dietetic care planning, exercise good judgement and problem solving skills.
Knowledge The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate their knowledge of all relevant legislation and regulations, including but not limited to, HACCP, Food Safe and understanding of the funding and administrative arrangements and compliance requirements of the Aged Care Act 1997 (C'th) Qualifications Relevant tertiary or certificate qualifications and eligibility for or registration as Accredited Practicing Dietitian with Dietitians Association of Australia.
The successful candidate will also require National Police Check and/or Statutory Declaration; "C" class or equivalent driver's licence and vehicle suitable for role; Vaccination evidence or willingness to be vaccinated to support client and personal wellbeing (influenza and other role specific requirements); Right to work in Australia; Experience The successful candidate will have 3-5 years' Experience in dietetics and experience in managing or supervising others, including delivering education and training to adult learners.
