Details of the offer

About Us All across the world, from the azure pools of Turkey and Oman to the travertine terraces of Yellowstone, our planet quietly pulls carbon dioxide from the air and turns it to stone. For eons, Earth has relied on this process to balance its carbon cycle. What if it could be harnessed? What if we could do it faster, in larger quantities, and at a low enough cost to make it an effective tool in the fight against climate change?

At Heirloom, we are turning that into reality. We use the natural carbon capture properties of abundant minerals to pull CO2 from the air and store it permanently underground. We come to work every day to slow climate change, and are united behind a single, common goal - to remove 1 billion tons of CO2 from the sky by 2035, and to not stop before we get there.

We bring together the precise recipe of science, technology, know-how, and strategy necessary to make low cost, high quality carbon removal a reality. If we're successful, we will directly mitigate climate change, build a world we can proudly hand over to our children and grandchildren, and catalyze an industry that will rival the largest the world has ever seen. If you want to change the planet, come join us.

About the Role Heirloom is seeking an experienced Head of Deployment Strategy to lead the rapid expansion of our Direct Air Capture (DAC) capacity, both in the U.S. and internationally. This role will be key in driving the development of modular, scalable megaton plants by blending cutting-edge technological innovation with flawless project execution. You'll work closely with the Plant Design and Supply Chain teams to ensure that the latest advancements are seamlessly incorporated into each project, balancing cost and schedule optimization without sacrificing quality, safety, or operability.
In this position, you'll be responsible for the overall project design and delivery process, ensuring alignment with Heirloom's carbon removal goals and cost-down strategies. You will leverage your deep understanding of construction as a manufacturing process, optimizing our "Project as a Production System" approach. By integrating modern construction methods, digital technologies like virtual commissioning, and advanced tools such as integrated BIM management, you'll ensure that our facilities remain future-proof and adaptable. Additionally, your work will focus on managing costs, schedules, and cash flows, enabling continuous improvement in project delivery and reducing common capital project overruns.
What You'll Bring The ideal candidate will have more than 10 years of experience in both manufacturing and construction, including at least 5 years managing mid- to large-scale projects in the commercial and industrial sectors. You will bring expertise in modular, scalable plant design and construction, with a proven track record of driving cost reduction and schedule compression while maintaining high standards for quality, safety, and environmental sustainability.
Your knowledge of emerging construction methods and digital technologies, including virtual commissioning, testing, and integrated BIM management, is essential to future-proofing our facilities. You'll have strong experience in managing construction as a manufacturing process, optimizing workflows for efficiency and continuous improvement. As a leader, you'll demonstrate the ability to prioritize and execute tasks to achieve both corporate and project goals, while effectively communicating project status and risks to all stakeholders. Additionally, you'll have expertise in managing project costs, schedules, and cash flow, with a system of controls in place to ensure project success. Above all, you possess the leadership skills and strategic mindset necessary to guide Heirloom's carbon capture projects to completion and help us meet our audacious climate goals.
Physical Demand Description The following requirements also apply to any roles which will spend any time working in our plants or construction sites (all technician and operations roles, most engineering roles, and many other roles):
Ability to work in outdoor environments (example: hot sun, cold, wind, rain, crawl spaces, etc.). Stop work will be called when it is unsafe to work.

Position may require working at heights including; climbing ladders/equipment, stairs, elevators, and working on scissor lifts.

Capable of performing repetitive duties including; lifting up to 50 lbs., bending, pushing, pulling, and standing for long periods of time.

Experience using basic hand and power tools safely.
