In this pivotal role, you will guide support for all students and staff, implementing professional development, streamlined processes, and tailored strategies to enhance student engagement, behaviour, and school experience.

The Opportunity
As the Head of Department, Student Engagement - Behaviour you will:
Lead the implementation of intervention programs that provide targeted behaviour support to student groups across all secondary-schooling year levels and manage external agencies involved with these.
Lead the strategic roll-out of professional development including the Essential Skills of Classroom Management that equip all staff with practical strategies to manage concerning behaviours.
Drive the portfolio of Positive Education within the broader school context, contributing to pastoral care and widespread curriculum.
Quality assure practices, documentation, and consistent response to both proactive support and reactive behaviour management processes.
Lead the Positive Behaviour for Learning committee (locally known as the Positive Culture for Learning Committee) in addressing behavioural data trends and driving consistent expectations across the school.
Nurture positive relationships between students, teachers, and the community.
Your Role
You will have responsibility for leading the following activities and delivery of the following key tasks:
Monitor all students' behavioural data trends, reporting back to student management teams and driving targeted intervention strategies to achieve positive outcomes.
Consistently review processes around behavioural reporting and management.
Understand and interpret relevant legislation and policies that impact behaviour management and positive behaviour within a secondary school setting.
Arrange and facilitate professional development for all staff on a regular basis.
Communicate and work with parents, staff, region, and external supports to improve learning outcomes, student achievement, and overall school experience for all stakeholders.
