An exciting opportunity exists for a Head of Department - Senior School (VET) & Applied Technology to join the school's leadership team.
The role is offered on a temporary full-time basis from 23 January 2025 until 27 June 2025, unless otherwise determined.
This role requires strong instructional leadership, a commitment to continuous improvement, and a collaborative approach to leading and supporting staff and students.
The successful applicant will play a vital role in delivering the strategic vision of the school and improving the educational outcomes of students by leading the Applied Technology & VET faculties.

About the Role The successful applicant will lead the Applied Technology Department (Industrial Technology & Food Studies) faculty and our emerging Vocational Education and Training (VET) program to plan, implement and review curriculum and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching and learning to enhance student learning outcomes.
The applicant should have a thorough knowledge of Applied Technology and VET programs and would continue to drive the emerging VET pathways and programs at Bundamba State Secondary College and have the responsibility as the RTO manager.
As the Head of Department, your responsibilities include:
Leading the implementation and delivery of the Australian Curriculum - Design Technology and Senior Curriculum (General, Applied & VET offerings).Instructional Leadership - Implementation of AIP including whole school strategies and department initiatives including the implementation of the college's pedagogical approach and building teacher capability.Developing and maintaining strong industry partnerships, and working closely with college staff and industry experts to foster opportunities for students within and beyond the college.Managing the human, financial and curriculum resources of the Applied Technology Department.Please refer to the attached role description for any mandatory requirements for this position.
