Job Description
Are you enrolled in a Griffith HDR program post confirmation and have at least two trimesters of prior teaching experience?
The Griffith Business School, School of Government and International Relations is offering three exciting opportunities for HDR Students to join our academic team in Trimester 1, 2025.
As an HDR Student Teaching Fellow, enhance your teaching experience while continuing your research.
Play a key role in contributing to the teaching efforts of the University in the Government and International Relations group, particularly at the undergraduate level, and carry out activities to develop your skills as a teacher in higher education settings.
Work with the support of an academic supervisor and develop an increased degree of autonomy as capabilities allow.
This role is at Associate Lecturer (Level A) and is an integrated paid work experience opportunity for Griffith HDR students to work as a Teaching Fellow.
Consequently, you will be expected to participate in professional development with the aim of seeking recognition of your experience and skills through the Advance HE Professional Standards Framework.
On campus, face-to-face teaching is required, and the work patterns for the part-time position are expected to reflect the teaching requirements of the role.
Key Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

Foster an outstanding student experience and encourage active participation and engagement in learning and teaching at the undergraduate level, facilitating high-quality, student-centred learning activities.
Support high-quality learning and teaching outcomes for students evidenced by technology-enhanced learning, problem-oriented, authentic learning, and assessment practices.
Support a student-centred service culture and establish positive, respectful, and supportive relationships between staff and students.
Where appropriate, promote and enhance student learning experiences through seeking opportunities to strengthen Griffith's research/teaching nexus.
Continuously improve teaching practice through professional development and critical reflection informed by a range of evaluation approaches.
Where appropriate to support personal professional development, act as course convenor at the undergraduate level, with support and direction from more senior staff.

This is a fixed-term, 20% part-time position. Appointments may be up to 2 years, and the term of the contract will take into consideration the duration of the candidate's studies.
The position may be based at the Griffith University Gold Coast, Nathan, or Logan campuses. As Griffith is a multi-campus University, you may be required to work across campus locations.
This role is aimed at supporting students enrolled in the School of Government and International Relations courses, enhancing their academic experience through student-centred learning and engagement.
Salary Range
The full-time equivalent base salary for an Associate Lecturer (Level A) in the range $78,034 - $104,938 per annum + 17% superannuation.
The total FTE package will be in the range $91,299 - $122,777 per annum.
Qualifications
Enrolled in a Griffith HDR program post confirmation and have at least two trimesters of prior teaching experience.
You will also have:

Demonstrated ability to teach Government and International Relations or related fields; and engage with undergraduate students effectively, including developing teaching materials and delivering lectures and tutorials.
Proven ability to convey complex ideas in a clear and accessible manner, both verbally and in writing, to a diverse audience of students.
Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to balance teaching duties with research and other academic commitments.
Demonstrated commitment to student learning and providing academic guidance and mentorship to students.
Proficiency in using learning management systems (e.g., Canvas) and other educational technologies to support student learning.
A commitment to ongoing professional development in teaching practices and engagement in teaching-related training.
