Your new role
As the Group Financial Controller, reporting to the Group Head of FP&A and Corporate Development, you will play a critical role in overseeing financial control and statutory reporting. Your focus will be on ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial results, while supporting sustainable, profitable growth aligned with the company's strategic business plans.
This role is essential in fostering strong, collaborative relationships with the Group Shared Services Centre, divisional financial control teams, global finance operations, global reinsurance finance & operations, global tax teams, and external auditors. Your ability to effectively manage these key partnerships will be critical to ensuring seamless financial operations and compliance across the organisation.
Other key accountabilities include: Manage the Group's close and consolidation process to meet external reporting deadlines, working closely with counterparts in Divisional finance teams.Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including Group and Divisional Finance teams, Operations and systems teams, together with auditors and regulatory bodies.Support the external and internal audit process ensuring that all information is compiled and available for the audit process.Manage and develop financial systems and procedure to meet current and anticipated future financial accounting and reporting in line with corporate and regulatory requirements.Actively motivate the team and act as a catalyst for action and change within finance and QBE more broadly.Manage the preparation and production of financial reports/accounts to ensure complete, timely and accurate delivery of information.Provide regular and ad hoc management information to support and inform decision making.Manage the Group's reporting requirements including for sustainability, regulatory reporting and investments and treasury reporting.Manage, develop and organise team members and ensure resources are appropriately allocated to fit business needs. This opportunity is ideal for a seasoned Financial Controller and accounting professional who has worked in a complex organisation within the General Insurance Industry. We are seeking a dynamic and influential leader with a proven track record of collaborating on a global level. You will have a passion for continuous process improvement and operational excellence.
Other key skills and experiences include: Strong accounting and consolidation skills with an understanding of international reporting standards.Advanced experience in finance and accounting systems (Oracle GCS).Strong reporting skills with an ability to articulate financial matters to a broad audience.Proven ability to lead a team and work under pressure and deadlines.Excellent interpersonal skills to enable effective communication at all levels within the organisation.
