About the Role:
The Manager – Group Customer Compliance is a senior retail regulatory specialist who leads the regulatory advisory function for the Customer business unit.
The role provides the strategic direction for compliance matters to ensure the best outcomes are achieved for both customers and our business.
This will include:
Leading a team of compliance professionals in the provision of regulatory advice for the Customer business unit.
Providing deep expertise (particularly for complex scenarios) in the provision of compliance advice and the investigation and determination of compliance issues with internal business stakeholders.
Leading the single point of engagement with regulators on compliance related matters and ensuring effective and efficient management of compliance reporting and information provision across the Customer business unit.
Understanding the compliance and enforcement priorities for each regulator and communicating these with relevant business areas.
Preparing and presenting independent Compliance Performance reports for the Executive Leadership Team, Executive Regulatory Compliance Committee and the Regulatory Compliance Board Subcommittee.
Establishing and maintaining solid relationships with Executive leadership and operational business unit personnel.
Providing senior thought leadership to drive a compliance culture, build awareness and compliance capability across the organisation.
About You:
This is a senior and critical role within our organisation and thus, the person we seek will need to bring deep knowledge of the energy retail rules e.g.
Energy Retail Code of Practice, National Energy Retail Rules, National Energy Retail Law.
We therefore expect your background will include:
Extensive experience in the retail energy sector with deep expertise in energy compliance from a legal, audit or risk functional background.
Complementary experience in senior commercial, operational or communications roles.
Excellent stakeholder engagement, collaboration and influencing skills.
Proven experience in having developed and operationalised policies, standards and procedures and in having designed compliance programs and controls.
Well-developed people leadership skills and the ability to harness talent to deliver great outcomes.
