About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to join Aurora's Head Office Finance team, based in Sydney. This is a full-time hybrid role (3 days in-office, 2 days remote), reporting directly to the Group Finance Manager. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting the day-to-day finance and accounting operations. You will collaborate closely with various teams, including Finance Managers at our Aurora Healthcare hospitals throughout Australia to ensure seamless financial processes across the organisation.
Your responsibilities will span a wide range of tasks across multi-entities including daily bank reconciliations and month-end processing, all while advancing your accounting expertise in a dynamic and supportive setting.
Key Responsibilities
Perform daily banking reconciliations and manage cash flow planning, including tracking daily spending
Assist with manual payments, banking administration, and cost recharges between entities, including raising invoices
Complete end-of-month tasks such as managing prepaid expenses, accruals, and adjustments journals
Maintain the Fixed Asset register for the parent company
Support in preparing Head Office Profit & Loss (P&L) statements, analysing budget vs. actual variances, and identifying key discrepancies
Perform monthly reconciliations of assigned Balance Sheet accounts
Collaborate with Hospital finance and admin teams to ensure smooth operations
Assist in the annual statutory audit process, providing requested documentation to external auditors
Contribute to ad-hoc projects and tasks as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
Proven experience in accounting, handling key responsibilities as outlined in the role
Strong attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Highly organised with excellent time management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Able to work independently or as part of a team with a proactive attitude
Strong prioritisation and problem-solving abilities
Knowledge of Dynamics 365 F&O is a plus.
