- Our 50 plus person Hydrogeology and Hydrology (H&H) Technical Discipline is one of the largest in SLR APAC and includes over 35 Hydrogeologists. We currently have a great career opportunity for an experienced Hydrogeologist looking for that next step in their career. As a team leader in the Brisbane office for the Groundwater team, you will have the opportunity to be a part of a growing team and getting involved in a cross section of multi-discipline projects across Australia. The team delivers projects across SLR's market sectors including Mining & Minerals, Built Environment, Infrastructure, Industry and Power, with a focus on resource projects.

We are an active sponsor of the International Association of Hydrogeologists and focused on investing in industry best practice for the benefit of both clients and staff. We work in a collaborative environment across our H&H teams in Brisbane, Townsville, Newcastle, Wollongong, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Wellington and Auckland and closely with other SLR environmental specialists.
- The role is diverse and provides a great opportunity for the right person to mentor a team, provide technical leadership in conjunction with our other team Principals, and drive innovative and sustainable project solutions for our clients. As a senior member of our team you will play a key role in winning and delivering a diverse range of projects and providing mentorship to our less experienced staff.Key Responsibilities

**Job tasks and responsibilities**
Key skills and specialist technical areas:

- With the assistance of the Technical Discipline Manager, Team Leaders are responsible for: The training, mentoring, performance reviews, and career development of staff. The generation and assignment of project work, The productivity and effectiveness of staff members of the local team;
- A track record in the successful delivery of technical hydrogeological studies such as groundwater investigations, hydrogeological conceptualisation, groundwater impact assessments, particularly in the resources sector;
- Working knowledge of other relevant National groundwater legislation and policies, standards and guidelines;
- Supporting Technical Discipline Managers in implementing actions from our clients;
- Assisting in the development and implementation of team business plans and strategies, where appropriate;
- Developing, facilitating and enhancing relationships between our internal and external clients and SLR team members;
- Contributing to winning work by identifying and converting opportunities and drawing on your client relationships;
- Providing advice and assistance to internal and external clients, team members and Project Manager's on projects regarding best principles and practices;
- Demonstrated experience in providing Health and Safety leadership, particularly in relation to hydrogeological field programs on resource sector project sites;

**Skills and experience**
- Appropriate Engineering or Science tertiary qualification and relevant groundwater industry experience;
- Relevant applied experience in Hydrogeology (experience in consulting will be highly regarded);
- Excellent communication skills and technical report writing, with the ability to communicate complex issues concisely;
- Strong data management and manipulation skills;
- Demonstrated experience working with and successfully mentoring junior staff;
- Demonstrated experience managing large hydrogeology projects;
- Excellent interpersonal skills, self-motivated and ability to work effectively within a team;
- A strong track record in building, nurturing and maintaining ongoing client relationships;
- The following skills are not essential but will be highly regarded: _
- Previous experience in team management;
- An understanding or experience in numerical groundwater modelling would be highly regarded;
- Experience managing and supervising field staff;
