Job DescriptionThe Australian Financial Review is looking for a talented Graphic Designer to join our creative team.
You will work closely with multi-disciplinary designers and artists to produce dynamic and engaging infographics and artwork for both digital and print platforms.
In this role, you will help illustrate news stories and create promotional content for our website, social media, podcasts, events, and newsletters.Key Responsibilities:Translate complex financial data, business concepts, and statistics into clear, engaging graphics (, charts, maps, timelines, and infographics).Create original artwork, including vector and photo illustrations, to enhance storytelling across various mediums.Present data in visually compelling ways that are easy to understand and accurately portray the intended message.Manage multiple projects simultaneously, delivering graphics for digital and print, including the website, social media, newsletters, and the daily newspaper.Collaborate with editorial teams to ensure graphics are on-brand, on-time, and tailored to the target audience.QualificationsGraphic design qualifications or equivalent experience.Demonstrated professional design experience, with a strong portfolio showcasing a variety of mediums.Proficiency in Mac OS and expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).Intermediate skills in Excel/Google Sheets and Acrobat Pro for data editing.Production experience across both print and digital formats.Excellent multitasking and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.Photo retouching and editing experience.Desirable Skills:Illustration and animation skills.Web design and coding experience.Familiarity with online data visualisation tools.Experience with cross-channel publishing and digital image libraries.Knowledge of business and finance topics is a plus.How to Apply:Please submit your resume along with a portfolio of relevant design work.Additional InformationThis position involves shift work that may occur on weekends, public holidays and evenings.Our Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion: We're committed to a safe, respectful and inclusive Nine.
