Reporting to the Mining Superintendent, and as part of our site technical groups, you will:Gain a detailed understanding of the Amy South deposit as it relates to mining and processing.Be exposed to all facets of mining and processing to gain a broad understanding of the operation.Assist with the site laboratory team for sampling, logging and analysis and geo-metallurgical bulk compilation.Assist the Technical services team with the geotechnical monitoring of Tailing storage facilities and other areas.Technically forecast and reconcile ore grade characteristics using Deswik mining software and associated reporting tools as required.Identify and execute business improvement opportunities in conjunction with the mining engineering team.Your roleAttain verification of competency (VOC) for driving in the active mining areas.Fulfill the mine geology function by maintaining daily and weekly grade forecasts and tracking against mining and processing daily production data.Develop, maintain and share high quality internal and external reporting on production tracking.Manage and conduct ad-hoc sampling in pit for grade and induration related investigations and report standard assay and / or XRF results to relevant teams.Receive formal training in mining software (Deswik), be mentored in the application of that training by the Technical services team to spatially interrogate the drilling data, survey data and the ore reserve block model.Receive on-the-job training on QGIS software for site projects and build geographic views to support permitting / approvals for proposed ground disturbing work including drilling and earthworks requirements.Assist in end-of-month activities and reporting; assist with monthly reconciliation reports and summaries.Feed into weekly, monthly and quarterly production planning and ensure ore forecasts are clearly communicated.Assist in the design, approvals and supervision of pre-production drill programs.As required, work in the field alongside a field technician and receive on-the-job training in logging and sampling of RCAC drill samples during pre-production drilling campaigns as well as hydrogeological drilling and logging (well monitoring and production bores).As required, receive on-the-job training in heavy mineral (HM) logging and mineral identification and design mineral composites for the ore reserve block model mineralogical definition.Contribute to business improvement initiatives and champion implementation of proven solutions.Contribute to embedding an inclusive and high-performance culture underpinned by the company values of integrity, trust, courage, respect and performance excellence.About youRelevant tertiary qualification in Geology.Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Possess excellent technical communication skills and be able to work effectively in team environments at times, under production-pressured circumstances.Exposure to mining software preferred.Committed to environmental and cultural heritage identification and protection.Current Australian Manual Driver's license.Our commitment to youDynamic, responsive and with a can-do attitude - we find ways to make things happen together.Encouraging an energetic, pro-active and courageous approach, we celebrate success as we go.As we grow, you'll grow with us.
