Graduate/Junior Accountant – R&D Tax Incentive/Business Advisory We are seeking a Graduate/Junior Accountant for a niche business advisory and tax role with a primary focus for the Research and Development Tax Incentive. We are growing and are seeking an enthusiastic and suitably qualified person to join our Brisbane-based team in a full-time role from our Milton head office. This new role within an established finance team brings further accounting experience to support the preparation and review of the company's expanding financial services offering.
The Role Is suited to an accounting graduate/recently completed accounting degree with 6-12 months experience in an accounting firm or internship.You will be providing assistance to the finance director and handling administration tasks within the established team as required.Primary R&D Tax Incentive focus; the preparation of financial workbooks, interpretation of eligible expenditure and ATO schedule finalisation.General grants assistance with financial cashflows and forecasting. Assisting with compliance of work against ATO guidelines and RDTI/grant scheme legislative requirements.Contributing to the preparation of reports and financial statements for internal and external purposes, including preparation of compliance correspondence for consulting team to provide to clients and other bodies as required.Providing accounting and taxation advice to consultants for clientsCorporate compliance understanding and application for companies and trusts with respect to R&D Tax Incentive scheme.Liaise with various statutory authorities on behalf of clients including the ATO, ASIC, AusIndustry, Austrade. Beneficial Experience Familiarity with entity structures, e.g. setup and limitations of companies, trusts, partnerships, SMSFsAssisting with the preparation of financial statement and income tax returns Keeping up-to-date with changes in tax legislation and best practices; tax research, training and development as required.Experience assisting with tax planning for medium and large clients.Provide assistance with the preparation of monthly dashboard and management reports Preparing client correspondence, letters of advice, etc.Previous bookkeeping experience is beneficial.Have strong practical understanding and application of financial, tax, and payroll statutory regulations and systems.
