DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will provide expert advice to clients while remaining hands-on with project delivery. Your responsibilities will include:
Undertaking and supervising field geotechnical investigations, borehole logging, and field testing
Conducting construction inspections, including bulk earthworks, basements, piling, and working platforms
Performing geotechnical analyses and preparing technical reports
Engineering reporting on geotechnical factual data, interpretive analyses, pavement design, and temporary works design
Conducting site visits and providing on-site training and mentoring
Managing small to mid-scale geotechnical projects and preparing proposals
Offering sound geotechnical advice to support the business
Collaborating closely with clients, contractors, and other professionals to ensure project requirements are met and maintaining effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Tertiary qualification in Geotechnical/ Civil Engineering
3+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering
Flexibility to work both in the office and in the field
Experience in geotechnical design, investigations, inspections, and reporting
Strong analytical skills to interpret geotechnical data and make informed recommendations
Familiarity with geotechnical testing methods and laboratory equipment is beneficial
Proactive attitude with a desire to be a key team member in a growing business
Team-oriented with the ability to successfully interact with individuals across various industry roles
Advanced skills in report writing and verbal/written communication
Work Environment
Geotechnical engineers at Rose Testing can expect a mix of office work and site visits, which may involve travel to various project locations. The role may require working outdoors in different weather conditions and managing the physical demands of site inspections/investigations.
