GENERAL SURGERY REGISTRAR | 90 MINS FROM SYDNEY CBD | 12-MONTH CONTRACTOur agency is assisting our client, a major referral and teaching hospital located 90 minutes south of Sydney in the recruitment of 3 General Surgery Registrars.
Fast Facts: The flagship hospital is a tertiary referral hospital, treating specialist and complex cases.This health district includes eight hospitals.These exciting opportunities are based across two sites.A recent $110 million worth of capital works enhancements including an Elective Surgical Services Centre. The Position: The Registrar will assist the staff specialists and senior medical staff in the management of surgical patients with acute and urgent illness and injury.

Assist the Director of Surgery in ensuring that General Surgery services provided by the Health Service are of the highest standard and delivered in an efficient and effective manner.
To participate in the after-hours on-call roster with other trainees and gain further knowledge, skills, and experience in surgery.
Eligibility:
To be successful in this role you must have MBBS or equivalent eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
Clinical experience and skills or interest in developing skills in General Surgery.Minimum two years post-graduate experience.Demonstrated skills in reviewing, analysing and evaluating patient care.High level of verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to all levels of staff and hospital clients from a variety of backgrounds.Developed leadership skills and experience in contributing as a team member in a multidisciplinary approach to service provision.Excellent time management and organisational skills.Moderate Computer Skills.The Hospital:
The Hospital is a level 9 major regional teaching hospital located approximately 90 minutes south of Sydney's CBD.
The Hospital is a 500+ bed centre which provides both general and specialty medical and surgical services including adult intensive care and coronary care units.
The region has a varied ethnic makeup and reflects the NSW State Average in its demographics and socioeconomics.
The hospital has a wide range of specialist medical services available including cardiology, respiratory, gastroenterology, neurology, endocrine, renal, oncology, haematology, rheumatology, paediatrics and geriatrics.
Surgical services include ENT, Head and Neck, urology, vascular, orthopaedics, trauma, obstetrics and gynaecology, neurosurgery and paediatric surgery.
Radiology services including x-rays, CT, MRI and ultrasound are available 24 hours.
Reporting by Radiologists occurs in hours and after hours in a timely fashion.
Angiography studies are available on request.
A Cardiac Catheter lab is on site and managed by the hospital's cardiologists.
Pathology services available 24 hours and reported via a computerised system and phone call.
24 hours pathology services are provided on site, including haematology, biochemistry, microbiology and serology.
