Your primary focus will be on motivating and supporting our staff, ensuring safety and quality standards, and driving continuous improvement in our products and services. Your ability to navigate complex situations, manage risks, and forge strong external relationships will be crucial to your success in this role.Key Responsibilities:Leadership & Communication:Lead by example, demonstrating and reinforcing our company values of One Team, Understanding, Respect, Agility, Navigating Challenges, Client Focused, High Standards, Ownership, and Results.Inspire and motivate staff at all levels through clear communication and strong visibility.Foster a positive company culture and drive the safety culture across the organisation.Strategic Implementation:Develop and execute the company's strategic plans, departmental objectives, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to align with our vision.Maintain and enhance our continuous improvement system, utilising methodology and tools from systems such as Lean, Agile and DMAIC.Operational Management:Oversee the management of safety, finances, people, and equipment in often hostile and dangerous environments.Ensure effective risk management and adaptability to fast-changing situations.Provide leadership for complex change programs and multiple construction projects across Australia & the Pacific region.Commercial Acumen:Demonstrate strong financial acumen, ensuring sound fiscal management and decision-making.Develop and implement growth strategies to increase revenue while reducing costs.External Relations:Represent the company with clients, regulatory bodies, partners, service providers, and the community.Enhance client satisfaction through improved product and service quality.Performance Management:Drive departmental performance by monitoring and managing outcomes in alignment with strategic development plans and key performance indicators (KPIs).Lead and mentor the Leadership Team across HR, Commercial, Operations, Maintenance, Logistics, and Safety, ensuring their performance and development meet organizational goals.Safety & Environment:Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive safety and environmental strategies, championing a robust safety culture and ensuring rigorous adherence to industry standards and best practices.About You:The successful candidate will demonstrate proven experience in a senior leadership role within the construction industry, or similar, with exceptional leadership & people management skills.In addition, they will have:Demonstrated success in enhancing Health and Safety culture within previous roles.Proven commercial success in driving revenue growth and managing cost controls.Ability to manage complex projects and navigate challenging environments effectively.Excellent problem-solving skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.Experience in risk management and adherence to regulatory demands.Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems, including Lean, DMAIC, or Systems Thinking.Familiarity with Programme and/or Project Management methodologies, including PRINCE2 and/or Agile (desirable).How to Apply:If you are a motivated and visionary leader with a passion for the construction or maritime industry and a commitment to excellence, we look forward to hearing from you.
