As the company continues to grow, my client is seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to oversee day-to-day operations and lead a dedicated team of technicians and office staff.About The RoleAs the General Manager, you will take full ownership of the daily operations, managing a team of 15 technicians and ensuring the smooth running of the business. This is a hands-on role where you will be expected to step in and support your team, especially during peak times or when challenges arise. You will be the driving force behind ensuring operational efficiency, team productivity, and exceptional customer satisfaction.Key RequirementsThe ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience successfully managing both teams and the operations of a service-based business. You must demonstrate strong leadership skills, with experience in managing and motivating teams, in this case field technicians. A hands-on approach is essential, as you will need to be willing to assist in daily operations and support your team when necessary. You will possess a strong work ethic, a "can-do" attitude, and the ability to work independently, taking initiative to solve problems as they arise. Excellent communication skills are required to effectively manage staff and liaise with clients, and you must have strong problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot and find practical solutions to operational challenges.Key Responsibilities:Sales Growth and Client Onboarding:Drive sales initiatives to acquire and onboard new and existing clients.Foster strong relationships with clients and agencies to ensure continued growth. Help onboard new agencies via Google Meet and or Zoom calls.Setting up new agencies and agents in the company Portal & Xero.Service Job Scheduling and Technician KPIs:Ensure scheduling and service KPIs are met for head office-run territories.Maximize the daily productivity of technicians in each state:NSW: Target 14 jobs per day per technician.Victoria: Target 10 jobs per day per technician/gas fitter/electrician.Oversee scheduling processes, utilizing scheduler/admin support or slot management tools for tenant job booking.Monitor job booking to exceed minimum KPIs, ensuring sustained business growth.Reviewing internal reports to keep the team accountable and implementing strategies to manage this if needed.Weekly meeting with the scheduling team and weekly meeting with VIC state manager.Monitoring the pending jobs list and keeping the scheduling team accountable for overdue properties.Conflict Resolution and Client Retention:Address conflicts with property managers, tenants and owners of properties to ensure positive outcomes and continued real estate agency relationships.Focus on maintaining strong client relationships to drive long-term growth and satisfaction.Ability to put out fires that may present themselves throughout a day.Understanding the difference between accountability to the company or the accountability back to the agents / tenants.Operational Efficiency:Ensure smooth day-to-day office operations and provide adequate support to all head office staff.Monitor stock levels and manage stock orders to maintain necessary inventory in Seven Hills and Beresfield, NSW.Ensuring the on-boarding / exit of staff is seamless.Monitoring all emails for Head Office run territories.Monitoring the contact form on the company website and delegating the enquiries that come through accordingly.Human Resources and Staff Support:Collaborate with HR for disciplinary meetings and staff management.Provide guidance and support on HR matters, including staffing and performance improvement.Collaborating with HR on internal promotions and pay increases.Terminating contracts.Board Accountability and Strategic Planning:Report monthly to the board of shareholders on business productivity and growth.Take initiative in suggesting and implementing strategies for business growth.Work closely with the board to execute necessary actions for company success.Industry Engagement and Networking:Represent the company at industry networking events, seminars, and key functions.Collaborate with other team members in managing and participating in industry events to promote the company.Managing any brochure drops and gifts for agencies.Qualifications & Requirements:Proven experience in a General Manager or similar leadership role within a service-oriented industry.Strong background in sales, client management, and business development.Experience in managing field-based teams, with a focus on achieving KPIs and operational efficiency.Excellent conflict resolution and communication skills.Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to growth and improvement.Proficiency in using scheduling software and management tools.Experience in HR and staff management is preferred.Flexibility to travel and attend industry events when required.Proven ability to make decisions quickly or on the spot to get the best outcome.Personal Attributes:Results-driven and goal-oriented.Strong leadership and team management skills.Assertive but adaptable, with a solution-focused proactive mindset.Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team.Versatile and flexible.Reporting Structure:The General Manager reports directly to the board of shareholders and collaborates closely with HR, scheduling, and operations teams.CompensationSalary: Competitive base salary plus superannuation.Base Salary Range: $200K to $300K + Super depending on experience.Benefits: Opportunity for professional growth within a growing company.Fully Remote: Open to candidates to work remote but ideally your location should be close to Sydney or Brisbane.How to ApplyIf you are a driven and experienced team leader with a passion for operational management, we would love to hear from you.
