In this newly created role, you will be instrumental in meeting our strategic and operational objectives, navigating complexities to ensure informed trade-offs that support our financial health and our commitment to customers. You will oversee a talented team that provides essential financial functions including financial control, financial planning and analysis, corporate finance, pricing, and corporate governance. Through your leadership, you will foster a culture of financial performance and discipline whilst driving initiatives that promote long-term financial sustainability and customer affordability.Financial sustainability and affordability: Shape the long-term financial sustainability and customer affordability in line with organisational strategic objectives whilst addressing strategic challenges and trade-offs.Financial performance and discipline: Foster a culture of strong business performance and financial discipline. Drive initiatives aimed at improving financial performance and operational efficiency, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.Commercial and investment decisions: Support commercial and investment decisions through strong financial acumen, building core commercial and analytical strength to ensure decisions create and deliver value.Financial records and corporate reports: Oversee the overall integrity and accuracy of financial records and external corporate reports of the organisation.Stakeholder collaboration: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, developing collaborative partnerships to deliver on the organisational strategy.About you:Experience: 20+ years' experience with proven track record of senior leadership roles in the finance function.Strategic Leadership: Ability to develop and implement long-term financial strategies that balance financial sustainability with customer affordability, navigating ambiguity and responding to evolving challenges.Financial Acumen: Deep understanding of financial principles, including budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis.Leadership and Collaboration: Strong leadership skills to effectively manage and inspire finance teams, together with strong collaboration across the business.Communication: Strong ability to articulate financial strategies and insights to diverse stakeholders, ensuring alignment and support across the organisation.Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with the regulatory environment affecting water utilities, including pricing, governance, and compliance requirements.Change Management: Proven experience in leading change initiatives and driving operational efficiencies across the finance function and organisation.Community Impact: Driven to make a positive impact on our community that balances financial performance with environmental and social responsibility.Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related discipline.
