Job Summary
As a Principal Software Engineer, you thrive on understanding and translating customer needs into new products and capability. You apply deep technical expertise and experience in software application layer solutions, to develop and deliver scalable design blueprints across the end-to-end software development life cycle.

Core Smallworld skills: CASE, ACE, Styles, Themes, Authorisation, Implementers, etcGUI DevelopmentDesign ManagerReports, Report Packs, Layouts/Layout SeriesSpecification configuration: Fibre/RMEUnit TestingDevelopment experience in PRM, ONA, GSS and GSAAdvanced Magik development skillsTelecom (Fibre) domain knowledgeAgile/Dev Ops - Jira, Confluence, Agile ceremoniesSource Control – GitUnit Testing – MunitOther – SQL, OracleKey Responsibilities: You will be responsible for undertaking the analysis of Business requirements and creating technical tasks and estimates.Design and build on tasks assigned during the sprint on GE Smallworld, Physical Network Inventory (PNI), Geospatial Server (GSS), Geospatial Analysis (GSA), Physical Resource Manager (PRM) and Optical Network Atlas (ONA) products.Deliver advanced-level GE Smallworld data modelling and Magik programming knowledge to support build of new capability.Experience working with GE Smallworld PNI and a good understanding of the Telecom domain.Interact and work with teams in technical discussions, design, and code reviews and utilize technical expertise in the requirements analysis phase to ensure the solution is both fit for purpose and use.To be responsible for the quality and timeliness of the deliverables.About the candidate: Computer science degree with GIS domain backgroundProficiency in GE Smallworld, PRM, ONA and GSShands-on programmer in the aboveAPI Design & ImplementationExposure to AWSVersion control systems (Git, Github, bitbucket)Mandatory development experience needed.
