They will interview people living with eye disease and vision loss, our scientists and doctors who are studying these conditions, and articulate their stories in rousing fundraising appeals.This is a hands-on, creative role that is responsible for creating and delivering compelling direct marketing content - including working with external graphic designers, photographers, and videographers - that aligns with our organisational voice:Development, writing, and implementation of CERA's four fundraising appeals, including direct mail campaigns and digital campaignsWorking closely with internal teams and external providers to ensure seamless campaign execution to acquire, retain, and engage supportersMonitoring campaign performance, generating insightful feedback, and identifying areas for improvement to enhance future fundraising activitiesOverseeing the creation of Visionary, CERA's biannual supporter magazine, from writing and editing to working with freelancers and agencies to develop contentWriting and developing biannual consumer EDMsRepresenting CERA at fundraising events and public engagements to strengthen relationships with donors.Your skills and experienceTertiary qualification in Strategic Communication, Creative Writing, Journalism, Content Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience in a similar roleExceptional writing skills with the ability to craft compelling narratives to drive donor supportStrong understanding of fundraising strategies and methods across multiple channels, with a focus on leveraging technology to engage and retain donorsProven hands-on experience in designing and executing fundraising campaigns across various platforms including direct mail, paid digital, and organic digital mediaExcellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences, maintaining professionalism, confidence, and discretion when handling sensitive informationHighly organised with exceptional time management skills, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting deadlinesOutstanding written and verbal communication skills, with an eye for detailExperience with electronic direct mail platforms (e.g., Campaign Monitor) and content management systems (e.g., WordPress)A commitment to working collaboratively with others and fostering a supportive team environment.All offers of employment are subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check.About the teamThe Communications, Fundraising, and Advocacy team plays a vital role in shaping and sharing our organisation's story.
