To continue to drive our business forward, we are seeking a creative food technologist who can join our New Product Development team, is passionate about driving continuous improvement and productivity to take our business to new levels.
Reporting to the Head of NPD, you will be instrumental in all aspects of NPD including acting as the key contact for new and existing customers' projects. This is an integral position within our growing organisation, and a terrific opportunity for a dynamic individual who enjoys a highly-collaborative environment.
Hands on in your role, you will manage new product development projects. You will also have previous experience in pharmaceutical or food manufacturing; a background in dairy would be highly regarded.
Your key accountabilities include:
NPD Projects from formulation through to commercialisationNIP and technical specification developmentRegulatory compliance and label developmentUse your extensive product development experience to improve the PD processes, prepare trial briefs and run product trials ensuring the highest quality guidelines are adhered to.Liaise directly with customers to meet their specifications in a timely manner.Product development from costing, procurement, factory trial through to full production run.Customer engagement for product sign-off and trial runsLiaise directly with suppliers to source materials and stay abreast of industry trends and opportunitiesLead margin improvement strategies and conceptsGiving clear direction and communicating effectively to staffAssist in driving productivity and continual improvement programsYour key attributes will be:
Bachelor of Science (Food Science & Technology) or other applied science backgroundStrong commercial knowledge of food developmentExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAt least 5-7 years manufacturing experience, preferably with experience in a similar type of role.Proven track record of project management, and an ability to manage multiple projectsExcellent understanding of Food Quality Standards and related legislationA commitment to provide the highest quality product to strict customer specificationsA positive 'can do' attitude with strong time management and organisational skillsDemonstrate highly-developed problem-solving and analytical skills, initiative and resourcefulnessThe successful candidate will be offered an attractive salary package for this full time position which is negotiable based on qualifications and experience.
