Westmead Hospital Fixed Term (12 months) 1.0 FTE Postgraduate Fellow - Interventional Neuroradiology Department of Neurosurgery Applications are invited from suitably qualified medical practitioners for the above position in Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD). This position will be primarily located at Westmead Hospital within the Department of Neurosurgery. Successful applicants will have completed postgraduate training in a specialty relevant to Interventional Neuroradiology, such as Radiology, Neurology or Neurosurgery. The Interventional Radiology Services within the Department of Neurosurgery provides the full spectrum of INR Procedures including clot retrieval and stroke management, aneurysm treatment by coil or stent or embolization. Applicants expecting to be awarded fellowship within 6 months are eligible to apply. The position will be for a period of 12 months commencing on 3 February 2025 to 1 February 2026. Essential Requirements for Appointment Possess or be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellowship of the RACR, RACS or RACP or equivalent as provided for in the Staff Specialists (State) Award. Must have Australian Citizenship or Permanent Australian Residency. Must hold a current NSW Environment Protection Authority license (if applicable). Sound clinical knowledge in Interventional Neuroradiology demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position. Expertise in relevant fields sufficient for appointment to the position. Conditions of appointment are in accordance with the Staff Specialists (State) Award. Selection Criteria Please outline how you satisfy the selection criteria listed below. In addressing the selection criteria, include any relevant skills, knowledge, qualifications and experience: A postgraduate qualification in Radiology, Neurosurgery or Neurology is essential. Prior experience in Interventional Radiology is desired. Demonstrated skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical Practitioner including: Proven ability to work effectively and harmoniously with medical and other health services colleagues as part of a multi-disciplinary health care team. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues. Excellent organisational, supervision and collaboration skills with demonstrated ability to build respectful relationships. Maintaining and developing knowledge, skills and professional performance to the level required for contemporary practice. Experience and involvement in quality assurance activities and translation of research into practice to improve patient safety and quality. Demonstrated ability to manage time and resources efficiently and contributing to the effectiveness and efficiency of the health care system. Demonstrated aptitude for clinical leadership which is evidenced by: Systems thinking and risk-taking aptitude. Commitment to self-care and personal development. Capacity to maintain personal integrity, tolerate stress and demonstrate resilience. Commitment to building relationships, leading, and developing others. Results and outcome focused.
