FitterAbout The BusinessWith a history of over 160 years in the Australian and New Zealand sugar industries, our client operations span the value chain from sugar cane growing, sugar manufacturing, refining, exporting, and marketing, to the production of renewable electricity, ethanol and sustainable agricultural products.About The RoleOur client is currently seeking applications for full-time Fitter and Turner/Maintenance Fitter/Mechanic/Diesel Fitter located at Mackay or Burdekin regions. This role is required to work as a member of the Workshop Team and is responsible for safely providing mechanical fitting services to support the manufacture of raw sugar. The Diesel Fitter/Mechanic is required to work as a member of the Mobile Plant Team and is responsible for carrying out checks and inspections of operating plant and equipment including Locomotive/Brakevans as a preventative maintenance measure. The incumbent is responsible for installing, fault-finding, adjustments, repairs and maintenance of machinery as required to keep the plant operating efficiently.Key Tasks IncludeParticipate and support the preventative maintenance programs as per company scheduling and direction from Mechanical Engineer/Technologist.Basic troubleshooting of equipment breakdowns, fault reporting and requesting.Complete procedural logs and maintenance requests.Installation and monitoring of plant and equipment by assembling new and modified mechanical assemblies and components.Carrying out maintenance and adjustments on machinery by using tools and equipment.Installs, repairs, maintains, and tests equipment within training level.Manufacture engineering components using a range of workshop machines including lathes, milling machines, planers, drills etc.Provide direction and guidance in the workshop areas.Any other duties required within the skills of the employee providing they are legal, logical, and safe.Qualifications And SkillsCompleted Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering (Fitting and Turning/Diesel Fitting) or equivalent.At least 2 years of proven relevant experience.Experience in maintenance and repair/overhaul of heavy equipment.Strong understanding of Workplace, Health and Safety in a Manufacturing environment.Working at Heights.Works under limited supervision either individually or in a team environment.For the right candidate, the salary ranged from $73,150 to $80,000 plus superannuation is on offer.Choose Agri TalentAgri Talent provides permanent recruitment and executive search services exclusively for Australian agribusiness.
