The Fitness Coach is an integral member of the multidisciplinary Medical Fitness Center team. The function of the Fitness Coach will be to provide fitness, health and wellness guidance/education to help clients improve their physical condition. Such training will be specific to each individual member based on individual goals and desired outcomes. The Fitness Coach develops exercise routines based on clients' physical needs and monitors progress.
Educational Requirements/Qualifications/Experience:Advanced education in an allied health field with secondary education in the area of exercise. BLS required, ACLS preferred. CSCS preferred. Certified as an ACSM Personal Trainer required. Knowledge of functional anatomy, basic exercise physiology, human behavior, and emergency procedures. Relevant experience in a medical-oriented setting preferred. Ability to establish and carry out accurate and appropriate individualized exercise prescriptions. Work well with a multidisciplinary team. Ability to instruct and motivate. Excellent communication skills. Available to work on early or late shifts and on weekends.
