About the position CSL Australia is currently looking for a permanent full-time First Engineer to join our cement carrier Goliath on a roster schedule of 6 weeks on and 6 weeks off. This operation is based in the Bass Strait. The role of a First Engineer is to be the Chief Engineer's Deputy while ensuring machinery and equipment operate to the highest standards.
In addition, the First Engineer will be responsible for:
Assisting the Chief Engineer in identifying deficiencies in procedures;Suggesting improvements to the system;Allocating tasks to the engineer officers;Compiling the list of maintenance and repairs required;Providing guidance and assistance to less experienced Engineers;Coordinating the Engine Room training program for new entrants and Engineer Cadets;Any other duties as required.About you Educational requirement: As per AMSA Marine Order 72 (mandatory)Technical requirements: at least 12 months of holding AMSA Engineer Class 2 COC or CoR (required)MSIC Card (required or ability to obtain)Working Safely at Heights (required or ability to obtain)Enter and Work in a Confined Workspace certification (required or ability to obtain)Current AMSA Medical (required or ability to obtain)If this sounds like the role for you, we would love to hear from you!
