The Fire Sprinkler Technician functions as a key member of a multi-skilled team to safely and effectively maintain facility infrastructure and critical systems at OASIS.
This role provides a professional service in the execution of technical repair and maintenance of all assigned facility wet and dry suppression equipment.
This includes elements of planning, organization, coordination, scheduling and resource management associated with the day-to-day maintenance of the facility's wet and dry suppression systems.
The Fire Sprinkler Technician is primarily responsible for the efficient and timely completion of fire system maintenance tasks, identification of deficiencies and repairs as required.
Operating within a small team of technicians, you will be expected to contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, supporting the implementation of initiatives and technical advancement.
The Fire Sprinkler Technician role will suit individuals that are able to think on their feet, respond to changes in assignments based on site needs and complete assigned tasks to a high standard.
This position works closely with the Facilities Operations Team, other Facilities Maintainers and OASIS departments to enable reliable, consistent and effective maintenance and operation of facility systems.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Inspection, testing and maintenance of fire sprinklers and associated infrastructure in accordance with applicable standards.
Repairs and installation to associated wet and dry suppression systems and infrastructure.
Work with operational and maintenance personnel to coordinate life safety system impairments as required for repairs, maintenance and new installations.
Maintain a complete and current working understanding of all relevant facilities infrastructure, equipment and systems.
Inspection of fire extinguishers.
Any other reasonable duties as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS
NICET II or III - Inspection and Testing of Water Based Systems.
Strong understanding of Work Health Safety (WHS) Act, and EHS policies & procedures.
Demonstrated understanding and experience working within Facility Maintenance or similar technical environment.
Strong understanding and knowledge of technical terminology relating to Electrical infrastructure and electronic equipment.
Strong understanding of facilities equipment and functionality.
Strong understanding of facilities O&M requirements.
Strong understanding of equipment maintenance requirements (preventive, predictive, & corrective).
NICET I or II - Fire Alarm Systems.
NICET I or II - Special Hazards Systems.
Experience with Notifier systems.
EXPERIENCE
2 years experience in a similar role.
Experience with a diverse range of fire systems and suppression equipment highly regarded.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Personnel are required to be medically fit to work and safely complete all physical tasks associated with the role in which they are employed.
This includes but is not limited to being able to carry and control moderate to heavy loads and being able to safely traverse and access maintenance environments that may be uneven or cramped.
