A successful and rapidly growing publicly traded company is seeking to hire a talented SEC Reporting Manager to research accounting guidance to identify key accounting issues and provide actionable recommendations to senior management on complex non-routine transactions in support of the strategic growth of the company.
Additionally, the successful candidate will review contracts and agreements for proposed or executed transactions while collaborating with both US and international business partners and accounting teams.
As part of the global Controller's team, the SEC Reporting Manager will be part of an adaptable and flexible team of professionals who are inspired by the work they do every day.
Title: SEC Reporting Manager Location: Cleveland Area Salary: $140,000 to $160,000 Bonus Responsibilities: Assist in financial reporting tasks, including quarterly Form 10-Q and annual Form 10-K SEC filings, as necessary.
Review and analyze company documents, contracts, and agreements for proper accounting treatment, with an emphasis on ASC 606, Revenue from Contracts with Customers and ASC 842, Leases and provide written documentation of relevant conclusions.
Monitor and research new accounting standards and accounting-related matters issued by the FASB and SEC and provide written documentation of relevant conclusions.
Assist in research of accounting matters in material transactions, such as mergers & acquisitions, investments, financing-related arrangements, derivatives, among others, and provide written documentation of relevant conclusions.
Collaborate with company-wide personnel in the implementation, integration, and ongoing monitoring of accounting standards and rules into company processes and procedures.
Assist with providing technical accounting consultation to various accounting and finance personnel.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures in SOX-compliant environment.
Perform ad hoc and other duties as assigned or directed.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, CPA, or working towards it.
Minimum four years relevant accounting experience with either a Big 4 or national accounting firm with publicly traded clients, or a technical accounting position within a SOX-compliant publicly traded company.
Strong technical accounting & research skills, and solid understanding of current U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations.
Proficiency in accounting research tools, such as CCH Wolters Kluwer Accounting Research Manager.
