Our client is a specialist retail property provider operating in both Australia and New Zealand. Their pillars of expertise is across Retail Leasing, Shopping Centre Management and Retail Strategic Advisory Services. Our client is a highly experienced professional focusing on enhancing the retail value of property, employing the most experienced leasing, management, financial, marketing and development executives within the Australian Shopping Centre industry.

This well-established company is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead and manage the strategic and commercial business decisions.

In this role you will be a key component as you adapt to work across multiple entities with diverse operations, and adopt a business partnering approach to achieve the required outcomes.

The Role:
Provide excellent leadership and management of the finance team by coaching, guiding and mentoring
Provide highly effective financial reporting and analysis support in delivering retail advisory project works
Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to develop and improve existing financial policies
Collaborate with the executive team to determine more effective ways to handle corporate funding, tax issues
Build and improve budget and business plan models (as required)
Create, share and implement new fresh ideas

Key Requirements:
Leadership and Management - responsible for managing, coaching and supervising responsibilities through a team of Property Analysts, Accountants and transactional accounting staff
Responsible for implementing quality assurance and leading the team through process improvement projects
Have a hands-on approach with specific responsibilities for undertaking retail advisory works
Supporting the Chief Financial Officer with corporate reporting and ensuring compliance is achieved with the corporate reporting responsibilities

Experience & Qualifications:
Degree in Accounting/Business, Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA), or Chartered Accountant (CA)
Master’s degree in business administration or financial accounting (desirable)
Extensive experience in a Financial Manager position – managing the team operations
Extensive financial experience fromretail property management industry
Superior communication skills
Strong client/customer service focus
Ability to strategically partner with internal/external stakeholders
Strong decision-making and problem-solving
