SIC manages and develops SDA properties across Australia, delivering operational efficiencies leveraging proprietary technology, strategic partnerships, compliance excellence, and a scalable business model.Position SummaryThe Financial Controller (FC) will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations of SIC. Reporting directly to the CEO, the FC will play a critical role in driving the company's financial strategy, ensuring financial stability, and supporting the company's rapid growth and acquisitions. The FC will also be responsible for managing financial risks, leading financial planning and analysis, and ensuring the company maintains the highest standards of financial reporting and compliance.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Strategy and PlanningDevelop and implement the company's financial strategy to support SIC's growth objectives, including acquisitions, property development, and partnerships.Lead the company's financial planning processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial modelling.Provide financial insight and analysis to guide the CEO and leadership team in strategic decision-making.Oversee the capital structure of the company, ensuring optimal balance between debt and equity financing.Financial Reporting and ComplianceEnsure accurate and timely financial reporting, including the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.Maintain compliance with regulatory financial requirements and industry standards, ensuring the company adheres to all legal and financial obligations.Lead financial audits and manage relationships with external auditors and tax advisors.Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A)Lead financial due diligence and valuation processes for potential acquisitions.Work closely with the CEO and board in assessing acquisition targets and integrating acquired businesses into SIC's operations.Ensure post-acquisition financial integration aligns with the company's financial strategy and operational goals.Capital Management and FundraisingSupport fundraising efforts and development projects.Support engagement with institutional investors, private equity, and other financial stakeholders to support SIC's capital needs and growth.Oversee cash flow management and ensure the company's liquidity needs are met.Financial Risk ManagementIdentify and manage financial risks, including operational risks, liquidity risks, and market risks, and ensure the company's financial health is safeguarded.Develop and implement risk management policies and strategies, including contingency plans for potential financial challenges.Team Leadership and DevelopmentBuild and lead a high-performing finance team, including financial analysts, accountants, and controllers.Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for the finance team, ensuring alignment with the company's growth objectives and maintaining high standards of performance.Qualifications and SkillsEducation and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.CPA or CA qualification is required.Minimum of 10 years of senior financial management experience, ideally in the property management, NDIS, or healthcare sectors.Proven track record of successfully leading financial planning and analysis, fundraising, and managing M&A activities.Key SkillsStrategic Financial Leadership: Ability to drive long-term financial strategy, providing insight and analysis to guide business decisions.M&A Expertise: Strong experience in financial due diligence, acquisition integration, and valuation processes.Compliance and Risk Management: Deep knowledge of financial compliance and risk management, particularly within a highly regulated industry.Leadership and Team Development: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop a finance team in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.Stakeholder Management: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience working closely with CEOs, boards, and external stakeholders (e.g., investors, auditors).Technology and Data Proficiency: Familiarity with financial software systems and advanced Excel modelling skills; experience with tech-enabled businesses is a plus.Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.Effective management of cash flow and liquidity.Successful completion of fundraising and acquisition targets.Achievement of financial forecasts and budgets.Compliance with all regulatory and financial requirements.Development of a high-performing finance team.Cultural FitThe FC must align with SIC's mission to provide life-enhancing housing solutions for individuals with disabilities.
