Financial Accountant, Total State Financial Reporting
As a Financial Accountant, your role is to support in the delivery of the Total State Sector Accounts and key reporting aggregates included in NSW Budget, Half Year Review and Monthly Reporting.
Some of the duties include:
Assisting in the consolidation of financial information at a whole of government level for inclusion in financial reports of the State.
Assisting in the review of agency submission of financial information including detailed review and variance analysis of agency-based data and emerging issues impacting the accounts.
Supporting in the delivery of ad hoc projects.
You will be joining our Financial Management and Services Group and will be working within the Financial Stewardship and Public Reporting Division.
What you can bring to the role
The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:
Tertiary qualifications in Commerce / Finance and/or related discipline
Member of a professional accounting body or working towards membership is highly desirable
Experience from the Big Four Accounting firms or Audit Office is desirable but not essential
Knowledge of consolidation accounting processes
Demonstrated financial accounting skills and knowledge
Analytical skills with sound conceptual and research skills
Solid communication skills, both verbal and written
An ability to deal with competing projects and priorities and meet deadlines
Intermediate excel skills
