With projects under development throughout Australia, and a strong track record in property development in Brisbane, Townsville, Cairns, Darwin, Sydney and Melbourne, Urbex aspires to spread our development portfolio by creating new communities across the country.The Financial Accountant is a key member of the Urbex business.
The incumbent will be involved in all month end and year end accounting processes, maintenance of the general ledger, financial models for all projects and business processes.
The role will work closely with key stakeholders including joint venture partners, auditors and relevant Urbex and BMD Group management and staff to effectively meet the objectives of the role and the business.
The incumbent will be involved in the preparation of monthly, annual and periodic financial and risk reporting for the Urbex business and BMD Group to ensure informed decision-making for the effective performance of its property portfolio.The successful applicant will be responsible for:Maintenance and reconciliation of the general ledger and trial balance.Maintenance and (at least monthly) updating of financial models.Preparation of monthly and yearly accounts for business reporting requirements.Assist with the preparation of monthly management and board reports.Assist with preparation of yearly and periodic budgets and cash flow forecasts.Ensure the accuracy and timely preparation of all cash reports/schedules required by BMD Group Treasury.Manage and monitor bank and loan accounts.Implement and maintain property settlement registers for internal and joint venture projects as required.Preparation and posting of property settlement journals as required.Assist with half-yearly and yearly audit process.Other accounting and finance-related tasks as required.To be successful in this role, you will need:Bachelor's degree in business (Finance/Accounting) / Commerce / Property Economics is essential.Minimum 5 years post-graduate experience in a commercially focused role.Possesses strong commercial judgement with high level financial modelling skills (Excel).Ability to establish and maintain relationships across different functions in the business.Strong attention to detail.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Commitment to a high work standard and work ethic.Confidence in communicating with internal and external stakeholders.BenefitsIn return, we offer a rewarding long-term career, opportunities to develop, and a culture that values your contribution.
