Hughenden possesses all the facilities and opportunities you would expect from a vibrant regional centre including schools, sporting clubs, and great natural landscapes.The OpportunityThe Finance Manager is responsible for the preparation of Councils key financial deliverables including annual budget, operating and capital expenditure reports, long term financial strategy and model, quarterly reviews, annual reports and performance monitoring.4 year maximum term contractBase salary: Negotiable in line with skills, experience and qualificationsLocality allowance12% Superannuation (based on a 6% employee contribution)5 weeks Annual leave with 17.5% Leave Loading9-day fortnightFully maintained vehicle for work and private use or a motor vehicle allowanceSubsidised housing and Relocation assistanceAbout YouIn-depth understanding of accounting systems, Australian Accounting Standards, and reporting requirements.Proven experience in budget development and accounting practices, compliant with Australian Standards and Qld legislation and audit requirements.Proven ability to develop, maintain and improve quality systems and processes to produce meaningful financial reports that link directly with performance reporting that supports governance and management.Demonstrated ability to meet and manage competing priorities and deadlines while solving complex problems and developing sustainable solutions for Council.Working knowledge of Local Government Risk Management Framework and its practical application.Advanced Excel skills, familiarity with Microsoft Office, and ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of corporate and other programs used by Council such as Authority and TRIM.Desirable: Tertiary qualification in Finance or Accounting and membership eligibility with CPA Australia or Chartered Accountants Association.To ApplySubmit your application in Word format by clicking the 'Apply' button below.
