Finance Manager - Dunkeld Pastoral CompanyDunkeld Pastoral Company is a privately owned business with its principal base at Dunkeld in the southern Grampians region of Victoria. The company manages a diverse range of businesses across the agricultural, land management and tourism sectors including operating the iconic Royal Mail Hotel. The Hotel is set in extensive Australian gardens, with stunning views of the Southern Grampians Ranges. The Royal Mail Hotel prides itself on creating a sustainable tourism focused, visitor experience that celebrates food, wine, people and place.An opportunity to join Dunkeld Pastoral Co in a newly created role of Finance Manager is now on offer. Reporting into the CFO, the Finance Manager will be based in Dunkeld and lead a team of 5 people working across financial accounting, business partnering and management insights. The role includes provision for a family house in Dunkeld and relocation assistance for the successful candidate if moving to the area to take up employment.The responsibilities included below are indicative of the role, but by no means exhaustive:Management of the month-end processes for multiple business units and entities, including intercompany transactions, the completion of consolidated management reports and balance sheet reconciliations.Lead budgeting, forecasting and reforecasting processes in conjunction with business unit managers.Identification of business risk and recommendations for effective internal controls.Oversee accounting operations including AP, AR and payroll.Preparation of 12-week rolling cashflow model.Ensure statutory compliance with relevant lodgements and payments including PAYG, BAS, FBT, payroll tax and Workcover.Work closely with external tax accountants as necessary on operating businesses and family office affairs.Assist with preparation of banking facility compliance reporting and any new applications.Contribute to maintenance and business adoption of systems including Xero, Spotlight, HR3, biotime, Agriwebb, RMS and Bepoz.Conduct regular 1:1 performance meetings with finance team and chair team meetings.Assist with company secretarial responsibilities for entities throughout the group and attend some DPC and related entity meetings (by invitation).The successful candidate will excel in a team environment partnering effectively with Directors, staff, management peers, suppliers and the South-West Victorian community. They will also be highly pro-active, independent, show good judgement and be capable of executing their role with minimal instruction and supervision.To be successful in securing this role, the Finance Manager will have:A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Business or Commerce.Membership or be progressing to membership of CAANZ or CPA Australia (or overseas equivalent professional bodies).Australian citizenship, Permanent Resident visa or a Skilled Work visa such as Subclass 491 (minimum 2 years full working rights).At least 5 years professional accounting experience, including management and leadership of a transactional finance team.Good understanding of effective management reporting and technical accounting matters that arise in sophisticated private businesses.Outstanding interpersonal skills, with an ability to develop and build rapport instantly with people.The resilience, sense of adventure, and personal interest to immerse themselves in regional Victoria.The highest standards of professionalism and personal presentation, pursuant to being a representative of such a recognisable and high-quality brand.A strong personal interest in agriculture, conservation, food & wine and the tourism industries.A commercial basis for decision making, with an eye to business impact and efficiency gains.Strong time management skills, and ability to prioritise tasks in a business with many moving parts.A current Victorian Driver's Licence (or willingness to get one).For a confidential discussion regarding this role, please contact Tom Hutchinson, Managing Director, on 03 9523 7906.
