Responsible for the daily supervision and coordination of operational field crews in conducting planned and unplanned network activities to ensure all assigned field-based work is completed in a safe, reliable, and efficient manner whilst maintaining the integrity of the network.
To perform similar work to that of field crews, particularly in complex and time-sensitive work activities or where operational needs are not met with current crew numbers.
To ensure field crews are trained and in compliance with safety guidelines, inspecting work progress and meeting with appropriate stakeholders to discuss assigned work progress.
This role is based at our brand-new state-of-the-art South Metro Depot in Forrestdale, conveniently located next to Tonkin Highway.

Ensure work of crews is delivered on time and consistent with organisational policies and standards. Ensure resources are fully utilised and operating in the most efficient manner. Maintain safety as a priority; ensure field crews follow safe working procedures and recognise hazards in complex machinery and a changing working environment. Have an intimate knowledge of how operational field-based work is performed similar to that of field crews. Ensure prompt attendance of crew members to faults and isolate the network for repairs to maintain the integrity of the network and minimise customer impact. In a Level 3 network emergency event, and as required by the Incident Controller, this position might be required to take on additional accountabilities within the Emergency Management Team (EMT). What Makes You a Great Fit Relevant and current trade-based qualification in a discipline such as Electrical Fitter / Mechanic Certificate 3, Trade Certificate, or equivalent. At least 10 to 12 years demonstrated, extensive and broad technical experience in networks or transmission / distribution industry, including appropriate licenses or certificates of competency. Highly developed teamwork and customer focus skills. Demonstrated experience in the implementation and execution of operation plans. A sound knowledge of networks construction maintenance and operations field practices. Experience in negotiation, conflict resolution, and managing public and stakeholder relations.
