You will be working on a well-established large-scale irrigation farm in the Emerald Irrigation Area (EIA), growing predominantly cotton, with legumes and cereals in field rotation.At Cowal we value safety, ownership, opportunity and growth, people and community and integrity.Why Work for Us? Key ResponsibilitiesUnderstand the annual cropping program designed to achieve top yield results. Prioritise daily activities as directed by the Farm Operations Manager. Ensuring the Safety of yourself and your teammates – including reporting incidents, hazards and proactively. Operate and maintain all aspects of the irrigation system. Setup, operate and maintain all machinery and equipment. General fabrication work. Maintain workshop equipment and monitor service intervals. Commitment to the Cotton Industry's 'Best Management Practices' program. About YouA growth mindset, with a willingness to grow with our business. Farm work experience commensurate with the role. Sound practical experience in general farm work, irrigation, tractors, harvesting equipment, pumps, machinery etc. The ability to work in a highly productive, motivated team. The ability to communicate well with staff. Certificate, diploma or degrees in agriculture related education is an advantage but not essential. Machinery plant & equipment tickets, also an advantage. A demonstrated commitment to lifelong learning is highly desirable.
