Due to our continued growth, we are excited to announce we are now recruiting for an experienced Facility and Compliance Coordinator to join our Engineering Services division, based in Port Melbourne. As the Facility and Compliance Coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing facility maintenance operations and compliance, ensuring the safe and efficient handling and storage of dangerous goods, and ensuring compliance with health and safety laws and regulations. This role involves managing the maintenance and dangerous goods programs and implementing best practices to ensure the reliability and safety of operations. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance schedule for industrial plant, equipment and facilities using the software package MEX. Organise scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, including with third party suppliers. Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance of plant machinery and equipment. Manage and maintain Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Risk Assessments for relevant equipment. Manage maintenance budgets and control costs without compromising safety and efficiency. Oversee the day-to-day activities of the maintenance team, ensuring timely completion of all maintenance tasks. Ensure the availability of necessary spare parts and maintenance supplies. Manage and maintain accurate records of chemical stock holdings, risk assessments, and relevant documentation in accordance with relevant regulations and guidelines using the software package ChemAlert. Develop and maintain procedures for the safe management of hazardous materials. Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards related to Dangerous Goods. Manage and maintain accurate calibration records of relevant equipment. Schedule and organise the calibration of equipment through external calibration laboratories and suppliers and ensure equipment downtime is minimised. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) laws and regulations. Develop and implement safety policies and procedures, including JSA/SWMS as required. Ensure quality accreditation, regulatory and legislative compliance. Ensure all WHS plans and procedures are effectively implemented in work areas, including the induction and training of staff, and addressing WHS hazards in a timely fashion. Ensure all operations are implemented with environmental considerations in accordance with the relevant Environmental Management System (ENVMS). Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure maintenance activities support overall plant operations. Build long-term customer relationships by delivering on commitments. To be successful in the position of Facility and Compliance Coordinator, you will need to bring with you: Relevant trade qualification(s). Facility/workshop and plant management experience or equivalent. Certification in WHS advantageous. Experience with managing contractor services. Ability to engage positively with a diverse group of technical, engineering, scientific and management stakeholders. Computer literacy and proficiency in the use of compliance management software such as MEX and ChemAlert. Knowledge of compliance with legislation, regulations and relevant requirements regarding Workplace Health and Safety. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Positive and proactive attitude. Candidates will need to be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance.
