We are a busy & fast-paced fabrication business based on the Gold Coast, under new management covering a large array of works for the commercial construction and metal industry.
With a number of commercial projects underway, we are seeking a dynamic experienced member with Metal Industry trade experience to join the team as an on-the-tools team leader to look after:
Site measures With the ability to draft and estimate We are looking for a turnkey starter managing the full functions of operating a fabrication business.
The Position:
We require an experienced team leader to manage, plan, and execute fabrication works.
You will be expected to lead a team of tradesmen on jobs in the workshop and onsite.
This candidate will need to provide credible past employment history that will confirm that you are a reliable and hard-working Tradesperson with proven experience in leadership, quality, and able to cover the scope of stainless/mild steel and aluminum fabrication.
This position is ideal for a person that has a strong attention to detail and a positive can-do attitude towards work, all day, every day.
You will also be expected to be able to:
Forecast, plan, and prepare for weekly site measures Project management Site verification and scope markup Site measures/survey Material procurement Manage drafting and job carding Follow procedure and manage a staff of 10 Manage sites and coordinate fabrication shop Ensure all materials for onsite installations are organized and ready to go Ensure a safe workplace at all times Oversee and involve in all facets of all projects Required Experience and Qualifications:
Must know how to operate technical devices such as tablets Must have experience in daily reporting to management Must be punctual and reliable (on time every time) Experience working in the Metal Industry critical (trade certified or proven trade experience) Experience with welding and fabrication to AS/NZS and ASME codes Ability to think, plan, and resolve issues independently Ability to follow safe work practices Ability to inspect and check others' work to ensure it is completed in accordance with scope requirements Understanding of standard industry QA/QC practices Positive and productive attitude toward your job, team, and the business Experience with pipework would be highly recommended Full driver's license and own vehicle is required Current Forklift License (can be discussed) Hand and Power Tool Experience Completion of Construction White Card Your application will include the following questions:
